SK Hynix, a large Korean memory manufacturer, released its second quarter financial report as of June 30, 2025, with a total revenue of 22.232 trillion KW, an operating interest of 9.2129 trillion KW, an operating profit rate of 41%, a pure profit of 6.9962 trillion KW, and a pure interest rate of 31%. SK Hynix said that both quarterly closing and business benefits exceeded the highest performance in the fourth quarter of 2024, creating a new record of single quarterly performance.

SK Hynix pointed out that with the global large technology companies actively investing in the artificial intelligence (AI) field, the memory demand for AI continues to grow, and the company's DRAM and NAND Flash shipments exceeded expectations, thus creating the highest performance in history. In addition, in the DRAM business field, the sales of HBM3E products with a total expansion of 12-layer stacked products, coupled with the increase in sales in various application fields of NAND Flash, has led to the highest level of competition for the industry in the AI memory field and the guidance of profits, which has continued the good trend of the past.

In addition, benefiting from the financial report results, as of the end of the second quarter, cash and cash equivalent products reached 17 Mn, an increase of 2.7 Mn compared to the previous quarter. The debt and pure debt ratios are 25% and 6%, respectively, with the pure debt significantly lowering 4.1 mega-grones than the previous quarter. Moreover, while increasing memory orders in the second quarter, customers also increased finished product production and maintained a stable inventory level. It is expected that as customers' new products are on the market soon in the second half of the year, memory demand will continue to maintain a long-term growth.

SK Hynix emphasized that in view of the above market expectations, the company will increase HBM production by about twice the same period in 2024, thus creating stable industry results. Moreover, HBM4 is also planning to prepare for appropriate supply at the moment required by customers and continue to strengthen the highest level of competition in the industry. As for the server modules planned to start supplying LPDDR-equipped server modules in 2025, the current 16Gb GDDR7 products that supply AI GPUs are also preparing to expand their capacity to 24Gb. In the future, as the company diversifies its memory products for AI, we look forward to further strengthening its leading position in the AI market.

In terms of NAND Flash, SK Hynix will continue to respond to needs, adhere to a cautious investment basis, implement profit-oriented operation strategies, and develop products that should improve the market situation in the future. The company will also expand the sales of QLC's high-capacity enterprise-level SSDs and build a 321-layer stacked NAND Flash product portfolio, thereby enhancing market competitiveness.

SK Hynix Corporate Center Song Xuanzong said that in order to successfully supply the requirements of major products such as HBM that can be confirmed in 2026, part of the investment will be made in 2025. The company will launch the highest quality and performance products required by the AI ecosystem at the right time, becoming a full-story memory provider for AI that can satisfy customers while leading market growth.
