The FA official released an announcement today, announcing the filing of 74 financial charges against Chelsea clubs, involving 2009-2022, mainly concentrated between the 10/11 and 15/16 seasons. Chelsea officials then responded that the club has taken the initiative to report violations and will continue to cooperate with the FA to investigate.

According to British media talkSPORT, Chelsea has been negotiating financial settlement with the FA in recent months to avoid possible sanctions from sports.

However, the move was strongly opposed by other Premier League opponents, who believe that clubs with strong financial resources should not evade points deductions by "spend money".

In 2023, it was reported that after completing the acquisition of Chelsea, the Burleigh Consortium independently reported a series of suspected financial violations left by former club owner Abramovich.

It is reported that the leaked documents revealed that Abu paid tens of millions of pounds for the club's interests, but these payments were not officially declared. The beneficiaries allegedly included Hazard's agent, Conte's team and Chelsea officials.
