Former Glasgow Rangers player Ross McCormack said he hopes to see Lampard coach the Rangers.
Lampard is currently coaching Coventry in the English Championship and has led the team to excellent results. Now the team is competing for promotion qualifications. Recently, there were rumors that he had an affair with the Scottish Premiership giants Glasgow Rangers. The Rangers fired their coach not long ago and are looking for a new coach. Lampard applied for this position two years ago but failed.
When asked who he would like to see coached Rangers, McCormack told Open Said on the Goal podcast: "If I could choose one, it would be Lampard. I think as a coach, you would leave Coventry to coach the Rangers without hesitation."
Another former Rangers player, Andy Halliday, also agreed. He said: "He will be on the shortlist. The club is in 2023. The choice is between him and Clement, so he has obviously been in the consideration before, but there is no doubt that Coventry are on the rise and scoring goals.”
However, Halliday revealed that his first choice is Gerrard, and he supports the return of the former Rangers boss, saying that Gerrard is the most qualified candidate at the moment.
When asked if he would like to see Gerrard return to Rangers, Halliday said: "Only until the end of this season? I would bring him back unconditionally, no doubt."
"There are rumors that he needs to stay in Saudi Arabia for a certain period of time to get the full tax-free income, so it depends Are the Rangers and the consortium behind them willing to pay extra to bring him back? "He would be my choice, but the club should not listen to me. I chose Russell Martin because of his style. I think Gerrard is the most qualified candidate and the risk is less."
