FIFA official media released statistics, and the market spending of both men's and women's football teams in the summer window of 2025 set a record high.

Among them, the men's football team's transfer expenditure reached US$9.76 billion, an increase of more than 50% year-on-year in 2024. The total transfer fee for women's football climbed to US$12.3 million, an increase of more than 80% year-on-year in 2024. At the same time, the number of transfers of men's and women's football teams also hit a new high, with men's football teams approaching 12,000 and women's football teams exceeding 1,100.

According to statistics, the 2025 mid-term transfer window (from June 1 to September 2, 2025, including the transfer window from June 1 to 10 specially set for this summer's Club Cup) once again shows the significant growth of the international player transfer market. Both men's and women's football teams have surpassed the highest data in terms of transfer activities and expenditures.

In the men's football team, England is still the world's largest talent investor, with their transfer fee spending exceeding US$3 billion, setting a record for a single association. England, Portugal and Brazil ranked in the top three in terms of the number of players transferred.

For women's football team, the United States became the largest spender, investing more than $4 million, breaking the record for women's football transfer fee data. Germany, England and the United States are the three associations with the largest number of players transferred. Emilio Garcia Silvero, Chief Legal and Compliance Officer of FIFA, said: "We find that both the men's and women's football transfer markets are very active. Although the growth of the men's football market was particularly important in the year before the 2026 World Cup, the growth of the women's football transfer market is equally significant, indicating that exponential growth is occurring at the women's football club level." This series of statistics highlights the continued expansion of international player mobility and the growth of the global transfer system.
