Winter is here, and nothing is more fortunate than sleeping in the heating room and listening to the whistling north wind outside the window. The only drawback - dryness is also not a problem because of the existence of a humidifier that exhales breathing.
First of all, it is worth affirming that humidifiers are definitely necessary
Zhang Hong, an expert in the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine of Beijing Chaoyang Hospital, said that indoor humidification is still necessary in winter, especially for some patients with respiratory diseases. In a dry environment, their respiratory tract may be "watered", which will lead to discomfort at the mildest, and in severe cases, it will lead to worsening of underlying diseases. "For example, if patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease are common among the elderly, if the respiratory tract is 'lost', it will cause sputum to adhere to the trachea-bronchi wall and cannot cough out, which is very uncomfortable."
The longer the humidification time, the better,
Many people are lazy. Once the humidifier is opened for a day, everyone thinks that the longer the humidifier is opened, the greater the indoor humidity, the better. Zhang Hong said that in fact, the higher the relative humidity of the indoor environment, the better.
To give a simple example, everyone feels very uncomfortable when catching up with the "sauna day" in summer. The temperature is not too high during the "sauna day", but the humidity is very high, often reaching 80 to 90%. In this case, the body's sweat cannot be discharged and it feels uncomfortable. Generally speaking, the indoor humidity between 30% and 60% in winter is a relatively suitable "degree". Under this humidity, the human body feels good overall. At the same time, this humidity range is an ideal range for reducing the occurrence of diseases and the occurrence of indoor biological pollutants. If you feel that you can't master the humidity well, you might as well buy a thermometer.
Humidification cannot be done with tap water alone. Experts have introduced that the common principles of humidifiers on the market now include heating to generate water vapor and ultrasonic high-frequency oscillation to atomize water. The principle of heating produces water vapor is actually the same as the principle of boiling water at home. When using this humidifier, the water you fill must be distilled, and you must not use tap water or mineral water. Zhang Hong said that if tap water is used, the calcium ions in the water will fly all over the house with the steam. Over time, all items in the room will be "painted" with a layer of "white frost". This layer of "white cream" is actually the crystallization of calcium carbonate on the surface of the object. Therefore, when filling the humidifier with water, you should choose distilled water. The one that can replace distilled water at home is pure water; mineral water contains minerals such as calcium, and it is not suitable for filling.
The humidifier and its surroundings need to be cleaned regularly
Zhang Hong specifically reminded that not only should the humidifier be cleaned frequently, but the walls, floors, furniture, etc. around the humidifier should also be wiped more frequently. This is because the humidity around the humidifier is relatively high. If it is not wiped dry, this too humid local environment is conducive to the reproduction of fungi, and then they are blown to every corner of the room by the humidifier. Some people have allergic constitutions. When the density of fungi, mold, etc. is too high, exogenous allergic alveolitis may occur. Zhang Hong once treated a patient like this, "Every time he uses a humidifier at home, he will get sick for two days. The main symptoms include fever, cough, asthma, etc.." Zhang Hong said that if alveolaritis is not treated in time, it will lead to pulmonary fibrosis and cause more serious problems. Therefore, when using a humidifier, not only should the humidifier be cleaned regularly, but also the hygiene of the surrounding environment of the humidifier is also necessary.
