According to The Athletic, Gary O'Neal has withdrawn from the Wolves coach selection.
The Wolves fired coach Pereira and are looking for a new coach suitable for the team. O'Neill is considered one of the candidates for the new coach.
However, TA pointed out that after preliminary talks, O'Neal voluntarily withdrew from the Wolves coach selection. The 42-year-old coach believed that the current time to take over the team was not appropriate. O'Neal left the Wolves coaching position in December 2024 and has been idle since then.
Ten Hag is also one of the candidates for Wolves' new coach. Related topics are being discussed within the club and they have expressed interest in meeting with him. Rob Edwards and Carrick are also candidates for consideration by Wolves.
