According to official Leeds United, the club signed Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff, and the two sides signed a contract for 4 years. Leeds United has not officially announced the transfer fee, but according to previous reports from Romano, Longstaff's transfer fee is £12 million + £3 million floating.

Longstaff played 25 Premier League games for Newcastle last season and helped the team qualify for the Champions League, and was a hero of the League Cup winning team that ended the 70-year championship drought in St. James Park.

After early loan experience, Longstaff made his first-team debut in the 2018 Cup against Nottingham Forest, and has since made more than 200 appearances for the youth training club. After winning his first goal against Burnley in 2019, he continued to show offensive threats, scoring a total of 16 goals in the Premier League with long shots and headers.
