A late Melbourne, Australia, left $20,000 in support for her pet cats, but this triggered dissatisfaction and quarrel among other beneficiaries of the family's inheritance. Some cat-loving family members were worried that the cats would encounter an accident and hid them. According to the Sun Herald, the newspaper learned that some dissatisfied members of the deceased's family believed that the money should be distributed to them, rather than being "swallowed" by the cat. More cat lovers in the family worry that these dissatisfied family members may try to get rid of the cats and have moved them to a secret location in the province to protect them from accidents.

A person with knowledge of the case told the Sun Herald that if the cats were beaten to death or stolen, the money bequeathed to them by their owners would be distributed to members of the family.

"It's just so crazy. I was told that day that it was like witness protection, but the object was a cat," the insider said.

She said the cats will be hidden for nearly half a year, but this is the best interest for them. Family members who wish to protect these cats can be allowed to visit these cats and check their health.
